Who We Are
The Economasters story began in 2012 when Chris P joined Chris T in the Economics department at Harrow – one of the world’s most famous schools.
Both Oxford-educated, and with a similarly aspirational approach to the teaching of Economics, they quickly developed a shared philosophy of effective education, their success as classroom practitioners being reflected in the results, the career choices, and – most importantly – the enjoyment of their students.
Twelve years on, having built up over 40 years of teaching experience between them and prepared over 1,000 students for their A-level exams, they decided that it was time to join forces for the next stage in the journey. Economasters was born: a specialised company that combines their unparalleled expertise in pursuit of a simple purpose: to deliver the best-quality Economics education available anywhere.
Chris P
Chris P was Head Boy at his secondary school and went on to read Economics and Management at Oxford University. He has taught at leading independent schools for 16 years, teaching A-level Economics, A-level Business, IB Economics, and GCSE Maths across single sex and co-educational settings. He served as Head of Economics and Head of Business at Harrow School for seven years, leading a department with over 200 Economics students, and was a House Master for five years. He has also been an examiner for AQA A-level Economics and has held governorships at both prep and secondary schools. He loves learning languages and travelling, particularly across Europe and Asia, and follows his unfashionable football team around the country.
Chris T
Chris T achieved the highest mark in the UK in his Economics A-level before going on to attain a first-class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Oxford University. He has worked at leading independent schools for 26 years, teaching GCSE and A-level in both mixed and single-sex settings. For nine years he served as Head of Economics and Master in Charge of Oxbridge applications at Harrow School before completing a twelve-year term as a House Master. He has been a senior examiner for AQA A-level Economics and has held governorships at both a prep school and a senior school. He is a keen musician, his involvement in choral music having taken him as far afield as New York, Cape Town, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
